Wordless Wednesday : Pokemon Friends

Wordless Wednesday : Pokemon Friends

Pokemon are big news around here.  Boyo loves them!  He has Pokemon cards, stationery, DVDs, drink bottles, backpacks, figurines, cuddly toys, Pokedex, books …  He spent an hour this morning drawing Pokemon.  He has written a script for a Pokemon video he wants to film for YouTube, and has assigned us all parts.  He even rang Granny today and asked her very nicely to knit sleeping bags for his cuddly Pokemon.  Pokemon FTW!

I’m linking up with Trish from My Little Drummer Boys for Wordless Wednesday.

There are so many beautiful and evocative images, and lots of funny ones too.

Do yourself a favour and check it out!

      Isn’t he sweet! X

Yes, they are! And breeding, if Boyo’s toy cupboard is anything to go by! He is a bit sweet in that photo. :)

I lived in Japan for 8 years and Pokemon is just everywhere! Looks like I came back to Australia to face all the hype again! Hope you post Boyo’s YouTube clip ;)

I will definitely put it up – he’s busy in script editing and casting mode at the moment, and trying stop motion photography! Can you wait three or four years! ;)

Oh Pokemon fever is crazy here, so much so that we continually have to limit our big boy’s exposure to it, to make sure he takes breaks and makes it a more healthy obsession lol.

We limit the DS time and then he plays Pokemon cards or stages battles with his Pokemon characters! :) He is so knowledgeable on the all the characters, their moves and the evolutions. He pats me indulgently when I try and remember some of it! :)

He should totally meet up with Stepdaughter. The other day I got a blow-by-blow run down of all the pokemon she has caught.

Yes. I felt your pain through your tweet! ;)

I was amazed to discover that Pokemon are still around, as my kids had Pokemon cards, lunch boxes, figurines and gameboy games over 10 years ago! Is it longevity, or re-introduction?

    • http://kimbalikes.com Kim-Marie Williams

Pokemon is still big news. Some kids don’t like it, but those who do tend to get obsessed! We’re OK with that though as his reading has improved hugely as a result of having to read Pokedex manuals!

Gorgeous! I love how children become quite obsessed with their ‘friends’. My daughter has Dorothy, Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisie, Goggy, Pinky, Dolly and Baby – It MAY be a little over the top?!?!

He’s quite egalitarian in his cuddly toys, now. He’ll have favourites for a while and then retire them to the basket and have new favourites. They all have names though. All 576 of them! (only a slight exaggeration!). However, I can tell when he’s really tired or sick, as I find him cuddling Super Pooh and Blankie, his cuddly toys from babyhood. <3 x

I love the fact he asked his Granny to make sleeping bags for them… so cute!

    • http://kimbalikes.com Kim-Marie Williams

Well, he asked me to knit them. When the Welshman stopped choking from his laughter fit, he suggested Granny. Boyo spent ages taking measurements and asked oh so sweetly. Orange and yellow, apparently. :)

That is so cute. My 8yo still has a huge Elmo pillow she got for her 1st birthday. It created an Elmo love that will probably last a lifetime. Rachel x

Oh, who doesn’t love Elmo! :)
