What I Wore to MBFF : Sportscraft

What I Wore to MBFF : Sportscraft

I’m linking up with Lauren from The Surprise Beginning for
Really, Really, Ridiculously Good Looking Monday.

On Friday, I attended the inaugural Sportscraft show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival Sydney.  I was lucky enough to win tickets, and had a great afternoon with my BFF.  She’s a little camera shy.

The venue was gorgeous.  I had no idea the Town Hall was so ornate and lovely on the inside.  Who knew?

Sportscraft are renowned for their quality classics, and this collection did not disappoint.  There were great swathes of colour, some standout pieces destined to become future classics, and the classic pieces we know and love Sportscraft for.

Now on to the important stuff – what I wore to MBFF, of course!

After falling in love with the most fabulous yellow jacket as spotted on Shop Me Chic’s post on 5 Coloured Blazers for Spring, I managed to snag one of the last ones in my size in my favourite Pitt Street Sussan store.

Obviously, the jacket had to be part of what I wore to MBFF.  I had previously planned to wear a Sportscraft black silk military inspired silk shirt with black suede platform pumps and NYDJ indigo skinnies, but my desire to wear my lovely new jacket nixed that idea.  Yellow and black?  I think not.  Bumblebee was not the look I had in mind.

I teamed the jacket with the aforementioned NYDJ indigo skinnies and a long line navy and white striped tee from Sussan.  I wanted to participate in the Fox in Flats Neck Party Dare but the jacket was such a statement on its own, that I accessorised with some Moroccan-inspired Samantha Wills earrings instead.

I had shoe issues with what I wore to MBFF.  Yes I did.  I made a judgment error when wearing a brand new pair of Clarks peeptoe wedge booties in the morning.  Unfortunately, they needed a bit of wearing in, which I discovered when I realised my poor little tootsie was bleeding.  I made a quick dash home to change into my Seed Femme green ponyskin leopard platform pumps – how I love these shoes!  Upon further thought, I chucked in my Zara ponyskin leopard loafers to wear on the school run.  That is how I managed to wear three pairs of shoes in one day.

I carried my lovely Awkward! Alannah Hill lady bag that the Welshman and Boyo gave me as a birthday gift a few years ago.

And I accidentally left this little baby at home.  Bummer dude.  She does look pretty in her new leather frock though.

That’s what I wore to MBFF Sydney for the Sportscraft show.  Did you forget anything important this week?

Man, you’ve bought that jacket that I fell in love with but cannot wear because it made me look too yellow. I love that jacket and those shoes…omg…KILLER! :) Loved your outfit! You rocked that MBFF girl! :)

I was surprised at how much the yellow suited me. I have a neutral base to my skin – neither pink nor yellow, so maybe that’s the trick?

      Thank you! x

I really love that yellow blazer – you look gorgeous! I really, really want those Seed Femme pumps, and you say they’re comfortable! LOVE!

    • http://kimbalikes.com Kim-Marie Williams

Well, there’s comfortable for a high heel and comfortable for a slipper, but I find these very comfortable! Something about the block heel and hidden platform.

Thank you very much. That yellow – I love it! :)
