What I Wore this Weekend

I’m linking up with Lauren from The Surprise Beginning for
Really, Really, Ridiculously Good Looking Monday.

I’ve spent most of the weekend feeling anything but Really Really Ridiculously Good Looking.  I’m sick again, and I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired.  I’m trying not to think about it, but I think there might be another sinus operation in my future.

What I wore this weekend was all about comfort, warmth and a pop of colour to cheer me up.

Speaking of a pop of colour, could it get more colourful than my fabulously sunny yellow jeans?  Target for $31, thank you very much.  They’re not quite neon but they are very, very bright!  They just make me happy.  Here, I’ve teamed them back with a bowl of Swiss Chocolate Movenpick ice cream for a Friday  night in with the Welshman.

On Sunday, I wore the bright yellow jeans again, with a layered grey and neutral combination.  It may have been warm on Sunday in Sydney, but unless I was directly sitting in the sun without a hint of breeze, I was freezing.  Refer to sinus infection.

I teamed a flowing woollen Sportscraft cardigan with a Witchery merino knitted vest and a Sussan grey animal print fitted tunic.  The yellow jeans are more like jeggings, so a long line top is essential.  Essential, I tell you.

This is not something I want someone to have to tell me.  Not a good look.

I’m also playing along with Fox in Flats Neck Party Dare.  I wore a beachcombed shell that Boyo found for me, on a silver chain with a Laura Ashley necklace my lovely sister in law gave me one birthday, along with my favourite 9 and 3 Mimco pendants.  Nine is my lucky number, and three represents past, present and future or yesterday, today and tomorrow, or our little family of three.

Here are the yellow pants in the wild, teamed with some brand new Hobbs bronze leather wedges I found on eBay for about $20.  Please ignore the bright red feet of the cold woman, and the hideous flesh coloured shoe liners.  There is no way I could wear new shoes without some sort of foot cover after three months of wearing socks or tights or socks and tights for three months straight!  Blisters are as welcome as the aforementioned camel toe.

So, what did you wear this weekend?  Do you like yellow jeans as much as I do?  What’s your trick to wearing new shoes?

Hahahaha, camel toe, it ain’t good! When I was dancing it was one of those things you always checked for! Camel toe with jeans in bad, camel toe with leotard and tights . . . the worst! xox

There’s a mid rise version, and a more hipster version. I got the mid ones, being not 25 anymore!

You find such good bargains! I wish I could get into the coloured jeans trend. Loving the yellow colour pop. Time to get on board methinks!

I figured it wasn’t worth spending a lot of cash on bright yellow jeans! X

They are like someone trapped the suns rays and wove them into denim. ;-)
    Rock that colour!

Ah, keep looking. They’re everywhere! I really wanted some mustard ones but couldn’t find any I liked, then I found these and thought how fab they’d be in summer!

It really is the most happy of happy colours. There’s a reason Mr Happy is that colour! :)

Thanks – I’m keeping my fingers crossed I get better soon.

I tried some of those yellow jeans on the other day… I just didn’t know if I had enough things to wear them with – but… neutrals and greys…. I could do that…..

I do hope you are feeling better soon – you poor thing, you have been unwell for ever such a long time! Boo to that!

I’d steer away from black, unless you also wore grey, to avoid looking like Mr Dobee from Romper Room. I think a soft gray flowy top would be really nice in summer, with the jeans cuffed and a nice contrasting toenail colour with sandals.

Yes, it’s been forever. I’m so over it! Thanks :)
