There’s a new makeup in my life and I luff her. Her name is Catalina Geo Skin Expert Multi-Function Foundation Makeup Set, but I’ve nicknamed her Skin Expert for short.

Best of all, I’ve got five complete sets, valued at $79.95 each, courtesy of Makeup Australia, to give away. Yup. Pretty happy about that! Love being able to share some of my fabulous finds.

Australis Makeup : Budget Kit

Australis Makeup : Budget Kit

The lovely Salwa from Salz Dummy Spit has asked me for some makeup help.  She said “I hate makeup and I think makeup hates me”, bless her little cotton socks.  How could I ignore such a plea?

I’ve put together a basic makeup budget kit for Salwa, using the fabulous Australis makeup brand.  They’re 100% Australian, don’t test on animals, have been in business for 25 years and every single product is under $20.  I am always terribly impressed with the quality of the product considering how wallet-friendly the prices are.  I am a huge fan.

Frocktober Day 13 and Kimba Likes Leona Week Day 6

Frocktober Day 13 and Kimba Likes Leona Week Day 6

Day 6 of Kimba Likes Leona Week, which also just happens to be Day 13 of Frocktober, finds me feeling a little bit sorry for myself.  I feel like I’ve a hangover.  Sadly, the only thing I drank last night was a nice hot cup of tea with my Adriano Zumbo brioche brownie whilst the Welshman was out with work.  Maybe he transferred his hangover to me?!

Beauty Review : Estee Lauder David Jones GWP

When a girl lives by the mantra “NEVER PAY RETAIL”, a gift with purchase ranks pretty highly in the excitement rates.  Make that a gift with purchase from favourite department store brand Estee Lauder, with useful products you will actually use, and the excitement levels go off the scale.

Balearic Love by BECCA

Balearic Love by BECCA

BECCA Balearic Love Collection

I am such a big fan of BECCA Cosmetics that my BECCA client card has written across the top “VIP – LOVES BECCA!”.

BECCA taught me to love my skin.  I simply adore their Luminous Skin Colour SPF 25+.  I was always wary of a tinted moisturiser but wearing a tinted moisturiser with concealer and mineral powder on the bits that need extra coverage is the way to go.  Full coverage makeup can be ageing and freckles are beautiful!  For the less than beautiful pigmentation and dark circles, BECCA’s Compact Concealer with its Medium and Extra Coverage combo is not only fantastic but has the biggest colour range I’ve ever seen.

Luminous Skin Colour SPF 25+

I was lucky enough to have my makeup done today by the lovely Megan at BECCA David Jones Elizabeth Street, to showcase the new Balearic Love range.  Oh, it’s so pretty and glamorous!

As BECCA says -

BALEARIC LOVE COLLECTION

Stolen glances with an enigmatic stranger, a forbidden embrace in the fading sunlight; this season BECCA invites you to dream of distant shores and unguarded temptation with the Balearic Love Collection.

Eyes are undeniably sexy, shaded in rich, sensuous hues of bronze, plum and violet while lips are nude with a soft hint of pink. A warmed complexion is sculpted by natural matte bronze for shape and definition.

Megan prepped my skin with the gorgeous new Radiance Primer, followed by Cashmere Luminous Skin Colour SPF 25+.  She concealed with Latte Compact Concealer and added a little more coverage with Bliss Boudoir Mineral Powder Foundation.

Before - Clean skin with just Radiance Primer

My eyes had Romanticism Eye Tint patted on, then set with Atlas pale shade from the Balearic Love palette.  Then they were shaded with Romal and Marcella, the bronze and plum tones from the palette, and further defined with Cabrera Line and Define Pencil.  The eyes were finished with lashings of the excellent BECCA tubing Ultimate Mascara and Medium brow powder for defining a bold brow.

My cheeks were shaded with the bronze tones of Bolero Mineral Powder Blush, and my face was contoured with Duende Mineral Bronzing Powder.  My lips were defined with Fondant Lip Liner Pencil and finished with the prettiest pink Valentina Sheer Tint Lip Colour.

I was really happy with the potential the Balearic Love collection provided, especially the Balearic Love palette, whose beautiful colours can be used to create a subtle shimmery eye, a defined classic eye or a gorgeous smokey eye, all in my favourite jewel tones of bronze and purple and subtle gold.

After - Phew, looking much better!

Do you love makeup as much as I do?  Are you a BECCA fan?  What is your favourite makeup brand?

January Photo Challenge : Day 18

January Photo Challenge : Day 18

Oh dear. The theme for Day 18 of the Photo Challenge was “something you bought”.  I just had to go shopping, clearly!

Firstly, I couldn’t resist taking a photo of this takeaway cup, from the The Victoria Room Tea Salon in Westfield.  Isn’t it the prettiest takeaway cup you’ve ever seen?

Tea Salon, The Victoria Room

I didn’t intend to go shopping that day.  I promise!  But I had to pop out to get some lunch, and the siren call of a “Further 50% off sale items” worked its magic on me.  And I accidentally bought these lovely things.

Pretty little things

I picked up Pip Lincolne’s “Make Hey While the Sun Shines” fabulous craft book, a dress and shorts from Antipodium London for Sportsgirl, a pretty fabric bow headband, plus some OTT jewellery for the Welshman and me to wear to a fabulous Bollywood birthday celebration planned for February.  All at half price already reduced sale price.  Rude not to!

I treated myself to this very pretty Stila holiday palette, in shades of pink, from Mecca Cosmetica.  A total bargain at $29,  with four eyeshadows, one blush and one bronzer, complete with a “how to” guide.  Works beautifully with my BECCA 10th Anniversary lip, cheek and highlighter palette.

Did you buy yourself a treat recently?  I’d love to hear about it!

In the meantime, don’t forget to pop over to www.fatmumslim.com.au for the January Photo Challenge details.
