My friend B is guest posting for me! We met in person at Blogopolis 2012, having become acquainted through the fabulous Fox in Flats website last year. We got on like a house on fire – so much so, I was keeping half an ear out for the fire engine siren. Or was that half an eye out for the firemen?
B is a big fan of the Polyvore website and has done a fabulous post on how to Polyvore like a pro. Today, she has put together some Polyvore trousers looks for me. I tend to bypass trousers in favour of skirts and dresses, so I’m prepared to be inspired! Bring on the Polyvore trousers! I’m ready to B Polyvored!
Hi, I am B from bbeingcool. I write about fashion, food, home and life. I love writing fashion posts, especially when I use the fabulous Polyvore website. It is so much fun to play with clothes from the comfort of my loungeroom!
It was so much fun to meet Kimba at Blogopolis, I can honestly say that the Kimba you read on this here blog, is the Kimba you would meet if you ran into her in real life. She is a darling! Kimba has asked me to put together some outfits with inspiration for wearing trousers. I love a good trouser outfit – trousers can be dressed up, dressed down and everything in between. I have also used some of the on trend colour combinations for this season. Ready? Let’s play!
Outfit 1: In the Navy with an Orange twist
I love the combination of navy and orange, and is so hot right now! In this first outfit, I have chosen a fawn pair of classic cut trousers with a cream button through top. Add to that a great navy blazer with some snappy navy oxfords {with gorgeous ribbon laces} and you have a classic work outfit. For a bit of colour, I have added a cute orange spotted scarf, earrings and a two tone handbag.
I love this outfit and would feel comfortable wearing it to work or a meeting. It is professional, but fresh. I like that!
Outfit 2: Cute as a (mustard) button
Mustard is so hot right now as well. I love this sweet floaty loveheart top, paired with the preppie short sleeved cardigan it adds a great pop of colour. I have added some mustard and black shoes and found a great bag that ties the outfit together.
The trousers are a wide leg pant, I think that when you wear wide leg trousers, you should have tops that stop on or just below the waist. Wearing a longer length top with wide legs will make you look heavy – no-one wants that!
This would also be a great outfit for work. It is a bit of fun, but still crisp and effortless.
Outfit 3: Classic Corporate mustard – still hot!
Mustard and grey are hot colours this season. Here we have classic front pleated grey trousers with a very cute grey chiffon blouse and black kitten heels. Then POP, a splash of mustard really makes this outfit. I love that this outfit looks just as adorable with or without the jacket. And … I am no expert on make-up, but if ever there was an outfit requiring a smokey eye – this would be it!
This is a great outfit for an important meeting or a corporate lunch.
Outfit 4: Floral Frivolity
Trousers needn’t be taken too seriously, check out these adorable floral print ones! So cool. I have teamed this with classic white shirt and a cool black blazer. I have added a relaxed loafer and some cute nature inspired accessories. I don’t like to match my bag with my shoes, one thing I picked up from my time in London … Londoners like their bags to make a statement, which this green bag certainly does!
I am a teacher and I could definitely wear this outfit to work. But, I wouldn’t, I would save this for the weekend. A great outfit for a Sunday lunch or a coffee with friends.
Outfit 5: Coral Casuals
A casual trouser never goes astray, really great when you are chasing children around! This casual capris would be a handy piece to have in one’s wardrobe. I have paired this with a watermelon coloured tank and a matching crochet shrug. I love the co-ordinating bag and oh so cute sandals – this outfit is very B! Casual, fresh and not too much fuss.
This outfit would be a weekend away kind of outfit, markets, beach, shopping, coffee …
Well, Kimba, I hope that these Polyvore trousers outfits have inspired you to wear trousers more often!
Thanks so much for having me!
