Frocktober : Day 28

 

 

Frocktober Day 28 and it’s a Sunday barbecue lunch with our friends-who-are-family at our house. The Welshman did the hunter gathering and manned the barbecue. I cemented my domestic goddess status by making a trifle. I’m good like that.

 

 

A David Lawrence black and white tribal print maxi dress is the frock du jour. This dress comes on a lot of holidays with me and will definitely be in the suitcase for my girls’ trip to Byron Bay next month. The main reason I love it, apart from the bra covering straps, is that it is 100% cotton with a cotton lining. I’m ecstatic when I manage to find one. Even better is a silk dress with a silk lining. It is sacrilegious to ruin a gorgeous frock with a nasty sweaty polyester lining.

 

 

Today’s makeup is Catalina Geo BB cream, Napoleon Perdis liquid mineral makeup and The One concealer, with Bobbi Brown Pink Peony blush and BECCA Pressed Shimmer Powder in Angel. YSL Touche Eclat is making me look a little less zombie like. I’ve made up my eyes with Face of Australia Matte Eye Primer and Napoleon Perdis China Doll eyeliner in Bronze, and a coat or three of Estee Lauder Double Wear mascara. A slick of Vanessa Megan lip balm over Napoleon Perdis lip pencil in Mauve Minx and I’m done!

 

 

Pimm’s No 1 Cup vodka version made with L&P, orange and lemon slices, mint and cucumber made a fabulous afternoon with gorgeous friends even better. It is the taste of summer.

 

 

 

Day 28 of Frocktober and it’s been a maxi dress weekend of laughter and friends and too much good food. I’m thrilled to be raising money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
