Wordless Wednesday : Festival of Kimba at Sheraton on the Park

I’m linking up with Trish at My Little Drummer Boys and Bree at Twinkle in the Eye for Wordless Wednesday blog hop.

What story do your pictures tell?

As Part One of the Festival of Kimba, Boyo, the Welshman and I checked in to the Sheraton on the Park for the night.  It was approximately six kilometres from our house.  Staying in a hotel in your home town is just like going away for the weekend but without the travel.  It’s the best!

We headed straight for the pool and the jacuzzi, where the boys swam and I sat and relaxed, and we all watched the sun set over the city skyline.  There is something surreal about doing something as sybaritic as sitting in a jacuzzi and watching people busily working away at their desks.

After a truly staggeringly enormous breakfast, we went for a little walk to the Mecca that is Westfield Sydney.  Boyo scored a new toy and I managed a spot of window shopping.  Never go shopping with boys.  It is no fun!

To round off our morning, we spotted some sunshine and went for a walk in the glorious Hyde Park to soak it up.  We had our wedding photos taken here some ten years ago, so the memories always come flooding back.  Luckily, I didn’t have a bird poo on me today, like I did then.  Guess that’s why I’m so lucky, huh?

I need to get out more. I am so jealous right now. What are you eating in the fourth picture. Looks delish, pistachio nut and…?

It’s Bircher muesli with berry compote and a nutty bran muesli topping. I did not eat again until 4.30!

    Oh Sydney…. how lovely.

    Great pics…

I hope the remainder of Festival Kimba is magical.

Thanks, B. I could have done without another sinus infection but that’s in hand now!

hehe bird poo on your wedding day? I guess it IS lucky…but I’m sure you could have done without it on the day. I love getting away to the city and just staying overnight – it is a holiday seven if only short and in your own home town :)

I choose to think of it as lucky but was not impressed at the time! Baby wipes got rid of it though. :)

What a great idea! Shopping with little girls isn’t always great either :) Rachel x

It’s the big boy who is the serious impediment to shopping! The small one is my personal stylist! :)

  • Twinkle in the Eye

What a great time! I love the idea of doing something special in your own town. Good for you.
