I was recently given the opportunity to review Catalina Geo Intensive BB Cream from Makeup Australia, thanks to Social Callout. I have been using this product for 6 months now, after Nikki from Styling You recommended it, and it is my go to every day product. I absolutely love it!
You can always trust Kimba Likes to keep it real – check out my Keeping It Real Policy here. I would never post about something I didn’t love. My guideline about whether to post about a gifted product is whether I would purchase it with my own money. I’d already re-purchased the Catalina Geo Intensive BB Cream before I was provided with a sample product, so the answer is a definitive yes!
What they say about Catalina Geo Intensive BB Cream:
The hottest product to hit the market, Catalina Geo’s BB Cream (known as Blemish Balm Cream) is a multi-functional product originated in Germany as an ointment dermatologists prescribed to patients who had undergone laser surgery, for its soothing, healing and skin regeneration properties.

What Kimba Likes says about Catalina Geo Intensive BB Cream:
I had been searching for a one stop product that contained SPF to protect my skin and prepped my skin for long lasting makeup after one of my favourite products, BECCA Mineral SPF Primer, was discontinued. It was with great delight that I discovered Garnier BB Cream had been released onto the Australian market. Unfortunately, the Light colour was too dark for me. Oompa Loompa is not a good look, people.
I was thrilled to read about new BB products hitting the Australian market on Styling You’s post. I did my research (Google, not the Ponds Institute) and concluded that Catalina Geo Intensive BB Cream could just be my new Holy Grail skin product.
Not only does it provide that all important SPF protection and work wonders as an amazing makeup base, the naturally light colour adjusts to my own skintone so well that I frequently wear it without a foundation over the top. This is a brave move for a beauty junkie, and a sign of how confident I am in this product! A bit of concealer where I need it (I am approaching my Big Four Oh My Gods after all) and a touch of mineral powder, and I’m good to go for a casual day. I’m not quite ready to give up foundation just yet!
Don’t forget that BB cream stands for Blemish Balm and I’m pleased to report, even with dodgy hormones playing havoc with my skin, that my skin has definitely improved since I’ve started using this product.
On first application, the pale colour seems a little bit scary, but as you apply it, it does settle in to your skin and adapt to your tone. I’ve tested this product on a few of my friends who have completely different skintones and it’s worked really well for them too.
One of the listed product benefits that drew me to Catalina Geo Intensive BB Cream was their claim that the product is sweat resistant. As I live in
Sweatney Sydney, where the summer months are like having your own personal Turkish steam bath every time you step outside the door, I was keen to put this to the test. I also take a medication which can have a side effect of increased sweating (nice!), so I was fully prepared to sweat the small stuff. All in the name of research, obvs.
Take it from me – this stuff works. It’s not going to survive 47 degree days with 90% humidity, but then, what would? I barely survived that horrific day! I’ve found it is far more sweat resistant when worn on its own (or with a little concealer) and set with a quality powder than when a foundation is applied over the top. Makes sense really.
Because the product comes in a light 50g plastic tube, it is easy to pop in my handbag if I’m going to be outside for an extended period and feel I need to top up my SPF protection.
I think it is really good value at $39.90 for a 50g tube and it lasts and lasts. Like most things in life, it is always better to start off with a little bit and add more if you feel you need it. I pop a little toner and then a couple of drops of serum on my skin first before applying my Catalina Geo Intensive BB Cream because I tend towards dryness, but I don’t feel a moisturiser is necessary as well.
In short, I love this product and have already recommended it to lots of people long before I received a sample for review purposes. I think it is very good value as it can be used instead of several different products. Most of all, I love what it has done for my skin!
